On this month's cover: The American Directional Drill prototype VR-330 on location in Louisville, Ohio is a vertical oil and gas drilling rig, which utilises a rack and pinion top head drive that creates up to 150 t of push and pull. The American Directional Drill vertical rigs have the ability to drill a true vertical or horizontal well up to 4572 m in total length. The VR-330 will be replaced by the new VR-500, which will have its first manufacturing release during winter this year.
