Prosafe has signed a contract with BP Exploration Operating Company Limited (‘BP’) for the provision of the Safe Caledonia semi-submersible accommodation vessel at the Clair Ridge platform West of Shetland in the UK sector of the North Sea.

Statoil and Total have completed their previously announced transaction whereby Statoil has acquired Total’s equity stakes in, and taken over the operatorships of, the Martin Linge field and the Garantiana discovery on the Norwegian continental shelf.

Spirit Energy has received consent to use Maersk Interceptor on the Oda field.

Bibby Offshore, a leading subsea services provider to the oil and gas industry, has announced three individual multimillion pound contract wins with an oil and gas supermajor.

The agreements cover the manufacture and supply of steel pipes for two subsea tie-back projects to FPSOs operated by AkerBP in the Norwegian Sea.

The name change supports the company’s strategy and development as a broad energy company.

The acquisition of Maersk Oil allows the Group to reinforce its existing leading positions in the U.K. and in Norway, as well as to enter Denmark, making Total the second-largest operator in the North Sea.

The projects are a mixture of contract awards and renewals for key North Sea clients, including Nexen.

The underwater operations will be undertaken by Aker BP's contractor, Subsea 7.

The project, completed in December 2017, utilised Bibby Offshore’s diving support vessel Bibby Topaz to carry out inspection, repair and maintenance operations in the Rhum gas field, approximately 380 km north-east of Aberdeen.
