Honeywell has announced the availability of the newest version of ConnexoTM MultiSense, its multi-vendor, multi-communication technology meter data collection (MDC) system developed by Elster.

With MultiSense, utilities can connect new smart grid devices whether they are directly connected or connected through gateways or data concentrators. MultiSense’s technology-agnostic communication framework deals with the challenges modern smart metering networks pose, and keeps the operator in control by providing the necessary monitoring and configuration options. MultiSense is not only able to deal with a broad variety of profile data, register readings, alarms and alerts found in modern grid devices, but it can also configure and manage device configurations in the field as well as apply advanced security models when required.

“Connexo MultiSense goes beyond data collection by providing built-in device asset management and device lifecycle management functionality. It creates a unification through its unique multi-vendor, multi-communication technology capabilities,” said Koen Bas, head of Product Management Software & Services-EMEA/APAC for Elster Electricity. “Utilities need to meet the various energy demands of their customers; whilst keeping the supply reliable, cost-effective and profitable. MultiSense has been designed with meter operators in mind, to make their job as easy and intuitive as possible. By choosing this solution, utilities can be sure that they are future-proofing their businesses in a continuously evolving market.”
