Oilfield Technology,
Hunting PLC has announced the launch of Opti-TEK™, a new suite of Optimised Intervention Technologies designed to help operators extend well life, reduce downtime and improve decision-making - while lowering operational costs and environmental impact.
These technologies will feature as part of the technology showcase at Hunting’s ADIPEC and ICoTA Europe exhibitions.
Built on Hunting’s TEK-HUB innovation platform, Opti-TEK™ combines in-house expertise with strategic technology partnerships to accelerate next-generation tools to market. The initial product line includes:
- Opti-TEK™ Slickline Tubing Cutter – Disruptive, non-explosive, downhole cutting. A battery-powered, autonomous cutter with CNC-precision for safe, efficient, verified severance in plug and abandonment (P&A) operations, or environmentally sensitive locations.
- Opti-TEK™ Data Stem – Downhole intelligence for slickline operations. A plug-and-play slickline tool that captures pressure, temperature, accelerometer and CCL data at a fraction of conventional system costs.
- Opti-TEK™ Monitoring System for Greaseless Cable Pack-Off – Real-time data tracking and predictive maintenance capabilities for greaseless cable pack-off heads.
- Opti-TEK™ Valves – A step-change in valve design: ultra-lightweight, compact, service-friendly wireline valves delivering high cutting force from low pressure inputs.
Allan Gill, Product Line Director for Well Intervention, commented: “Opti-TEK™ represents Hunting’s commitment to delivering smarter, safer and more cost-effective interventions. By aligning cutting-edge innovation with real-world operational demands, we are enabling our customers to optimise every intervention and maximise the value of their asset.”
