The company has announced that the Mexican oil & gas regulator, the National Hydrocarbons Commission, has approved the appraisal plan for the Zama discovery.

The well was drilled about 105 km west of the 7324/8-1 (Wisting) oil discovery in the Barents Sea and about 350 km northwest of Hammerfest.

The well, on P1918 in the Wessex Basin, remains on track to be drilled in Q4 2018.

The production start-up of the Umm Lulu and SARB (Satah Al Razboot) fields shows an initial capacity of 50 000 bpd.
