Serica Energy said the well requires sand screens to be installed to prevent fine particles being produced – difficulties were encountered while running the screens and it was ultimately not possible to install them.

The National Petroleum Construction Co. has been awarded a contract to deliver engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for the offshore facilities required to enable full production capacity of 45 000 bpd of light crude.

The assets being sold consist of 50% of Central’s interests in its producing assets in the Northern Territory: Mereenie Oil and Gas Field, Palm Valley Gas Field, and Dingo Gas Field.

The programme comprises three production wells and will develop additional natural gas and liquids reserves, extending the life of the Bayu-Undan field as well as production from the offshore facilities and the Darwin LNG plant.

The contract is with a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BW Offshore group.

The site survey is expected to commence at the end of July 2021 and be completed in 3Q21.

The contract scope includes engineering, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of 80 km of rigid risers and flowlines for the steel lazy wave production system, 60 km of flexible service lines, 50 km of umbilicals and associated infrastructure, as well as installation of FPSO mooring lines and hook-up.

The Haltenbanken East project will be developed as a unit between four different licences, and comprises six discoveries and three prospects with a combined volume in the order of 100 million boe, mostly gas.

The Dvalin North discovery, estimated to hold between 33-70 million boe, is 12 km north of the company’s operated Dvalin field, and 65 km north of the operated Maria field.

Nexans will design, manufacture and supply 44 km of steel tube umbilicals and accessories for the Bacalhau ultra-deepwater oilfield development project.
