OMV, the international integrated oil and gas company based in Vienna, has agreed to acquire Shell’s Upstream business in New Zealand comprising joint venture interests in Pohokura (48%), the largest gas producing field in New Zealand, and Maui (83.75%) as well as related infrastructure for production, storage and transportation.

This contract award builds on Jacobs momentum of securing several significant maintenance and turnarounds contracts in North America this past year.

AVEVA has acquired the intellectual property rights to the engineering design database and design productivity software known as EDD and PDMSi, developed by Shell International Exploration and Production Inc., a member of the Royal Dutch Shell plc group.

On 31 January, Shell acquired nine exploration blocks for the Mexican Gulf of Mexico in the deepwater bid round.

The company has announced one of its largest US Gulf of Mexico exploration finds in the psat decade from the Wale deepwater well.

The new exploration discoveries are Capercaillie, which it a 100% owner of, and Achmelvich, which it has a majority stake in.

The agreement is for Shell’s stake in Blocks 15, 16 and 17 and Block G12/48.

The decision authorises the construction of a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, the first new manned installation for Shell in the northern North Sea in almost 30 years.

Shell has revealed that the sale of the unit has been terminated and will not complete.

Assala Energy will operate Shell’s onshore Gabon assets upstream assets. At completion, some 430 local employees have transferred from Shell to Assala Energy.
