Trendsetter Engineering, Inc has announced that is has been awarded a contract for the provision of subsea production equipment from an operator in the Gulf of Mexico.

The company, which specialises in delivering drone inspections and asset visualisation software for energy infrastructure, has been acquired by funds advised by Magnesium Capital LLP.

Hook-up and commissioning of all four platforms will take place alongside the tie-back of the eight pre-drilled production wells, ahead of expected first oil in November 2019.

The contract is for the support of Shell’s exploration campaign in Black Sea, Bulgaria, in partnership with Bulgarian operator Bon Marine.

The oil discovery was made in the second exploratory well H2, located in the block KG-OSN-2009/3.

GeoSoftware, part of CGG’s Geoscience Division, has renewed the donation of its HampsonRussell seismic reservoir characterisation software to CERENA/Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) University in Lisbon, Portugal.

Susan Steyn will be based in the firm’s Houston office and will be central to delivering the division’s ambitious global expansion strategy.

Aberdeenshire-based subsea firm Aleron Group has acquired electrical drive engineering specialist IMPAQ Ltd. to support its expansion strategy into new technology and markets including military, defence and nuclear industries.

The acquisition was announced in early February 2019 and was completed effective March 26, 2019.

The new facility will be used for large scale fabrication of offshore platforms and onshore/offshore modules.
