CGG has been awarded a subsurface imaging contract in the Barents Sea by Lundin Energy Norway.

The work consists of pre-laying 24 torpedo anchors offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the Mero 2 Project.

Of the total 448 km of flexible lines required for the Marlim and Voador field revitalisation project, 280 km were contracted with NOV and 168 km with Baker Hughes.

The programme includes approximately 6175 km2 of reprocessed 3D seismic data from the mature, hydrocarbon-producing areas of South Timbalier, Grand Isle and Ewing Bank.

The latest preliminary estimates from the King and Prince exploration wells show volumes between 60-135 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents.

Oil production in May was 4% higher than the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s forecast, and 1.2% higher than the forecast so far this year.

Facilities to be installed include a five-mile offshore lateral pipeline build from the Shenandoah platform in the Gulf of Mexico to Discovery’s existing Keathley Canyon Connector pipeline, and additional onshore processing facilities to handle the expected natural gas production.

The Gråsel reservoir is situated over the Skarv reservoir in the Norwegian Sea, about 210 km west of Sandnessjøen, and contains around 13 million boe of oil.

The semi-submersible rig Scarabeo 8 is due to begin operations in the Norwegian North Sea in 4Q21.

The MoU defines the framework for further cooperation in the processing and interpretation of seismic data owned by the Republic of Indonesia by using Eni’s technologies and facilities, including the Green Data Centre supercomputers in Ferrera Erbognone, Italy, as well as seismic imaging algorithms.
