Statfjord A platform to shut down in 2022

One of the oldest platforms on the Norwegian continental shelf, Statfjord A, operated by Equinor, was originally scheduled to be shut down in 1999.

 

Equinor announces 1Q19 results

Adjusted earnings were US$4.19 billion in 1Q19, down from US$4.41 billion in 1Q18. Adjusted earnings after tax were US$1.54 billion, up from US$1.47 billion in the same period last year.

 
 
 

New 'smoke alarm for the sea' detects leaks in oil and gas wells

A new technique to monitor the long-term integrity of suspended or decommissioned oil and gas wells in the North Sea is in development via a collaborative project involving Sentinel Subsea, Heriot-Watt University and the Oil & Gas Innovation Centre.
