Wintershall Dea Norge AS is in the process of concluding the drilling of appraisal well 6604/5-2 S, located about 113 km southwest of the Aasta Hansteen field.

The contract is with an unnamed major international oil company.

The company secured contracts in the Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea during the second half of 2019.

The alliance will provide clients with an integrated service across a wide range of complex projects in the UK North Sea and internationally.

Alligin forms part of the Greater Schiehallion Area and has been developed as a two-well subsea tieback into the existing Schiehallion and Loyal subsea infrastructure and the Glen Lyon floating, production, storage, offload (FPSO) vessel.

The five-year contract will take effect in April 2020.
