Organised by industry body Subsea UK in partnership with the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA), the Subsea Supply Chain Capability Showcase will take place from the 12 June 2019, at the Crowne Plaza hotel, Newcastle. The event aims to highlight the subsea knowledge, skills and resources available within the local region.

A conference will take place on day one of the event which will feature a series of presentations from manufacturers, technology firms and engineering companies. These include; Modus, OSBIT, PDL Solutions, Tekmar Group, Wilton Engineering, Benbecula Group, Royal IHC, Subsea Innovation, and BEL Valves.

Day two will involve a site tour for operators of local subsea businesses including BEL Valves, BHGE, Shepherd Offshore, SMD, and Port of Blyth.

Neil Gordon, Chief Executive of Subsea UK, said: “The North East of England is home to world-class engineering and manufacturing capabilities and since 2012, the oil and gas sector in the region has grown by 40%. The supply chain showcase is a unique opportunity for operators to get an overview of the subsea expertise which exists in the area.

“Greater collaboration between the supply chain and operators is vital to ensuring the longevity of the sector and events such as this opens channels of communication which otherwise might not exist.”

Bill Cattanach from the OGA, said: “British industry remains a strong and competitive economy, manufacturing many of the complex components regularly used in the UKCS today. On a recent visit to businesses located on the River Tyne and nearby at Blyth, the OGA leadership team was very encouraged by the scale and expertise of these companies. We have partnered with Subsea UK to bring a group representing 15 operators to the area, one of the largest contingent of oil companies to visit the North East region in recent years which presents a great opportunity for local companies to showcase their skills and capabilities to this influential audience.”

The Subsea Supply Chain Capability Showcase (NE England) is free to attend and will take place at the Crowne Plaza Newcastle from 12 June 2019.
