Oilfield Technology,

In the wake of MAC recording its highest ever number of offshore man/days in its first half of the year and the second half of 2018 looking to match this trend, the company has enhanced its engineering team by welcoming Sigurd Vermundundsen as Master Mariner, John Stockdale as Marine Manager and Oguz Oktay, as Principal Naval Architect. The fourth new recruit, Theresa Suttar, joins the document control team.

As MAC enjoys one of its busiest periods to date, Sigurd and John will work closely to support MAC Operations Manager Neale Fraser. Sigurd comes with an extensive background having worked previously in marine warranty services and as a vessel surveyor, DP witness and surveyor. Now focused primarily on vessel assurance, Sigurd is excited to continue progressing his own skill set, whilst sharing disciplines and practical knowledge with colleagues and teams at MAC.

John joins MAC with over forty years’ experience, having been involved in the marine industry for his entire working life. Starting off at sea, John moved into training, then managing vessels and people and latterly into consulting. His wide range of experience brings a wealth of knowledge to MAC, where he hopes to continue developing the company’s methodology – improving processes and make any changes to improve on an already excellent performance and maintain the highest of standards.

Oguz’s appointment will bolster the engineering team’s Cessation of Production (CoP) offering. Having previously worked for the Ministry of Defence service companies, he brings expertise in a range of fields, including site, project and planning engineering, structural/naval architecture and welding management.

Backed by his specialist knowledge of end-to-end marine experience, Oguz will provide MAC with further flexibility to support marine and engineering marine warranty scopes.

Theresa Suttar will support the international company with document processing and control, helping projects throughout their lifetime. With experience of general administrative support within the industry and working alongside surveyors, Theresa is look-ing forward to immersing herself into MAC and expanding her understanding of the marketplace.

Neale Fraser commented: “Having seen an upturn in activity for MAC, we have in-vested significantly in personnel; strengthening our range of support services to the marine, construction, drilling, floating production, decommissioning, and renewables industries around the world.

“We are dedicated to providing our clients with the highest standards of service and delivering effective solutions to ever-increasing challenges. I have no doubt that John, Sig, Oguz and Theresa will enhance the team as we look to continue to deliver an excellent and professional offering.”
