Seacroft Marine Consultants has appointed a new marine projects manager as it further develops specialised offshore marine projects.
The Aberdeen-based firm has welcomed experienced specialist Gary McKenzie to the role as it looks to capitalise on growing opportunities within the marine sector throughout the months ahead – and expand its rig move, dynamic positioning and marine warranty capabilities.
Gary brings with him extensive marine knowledge and decades of experience. Initially beginning his career serving at sea on board chemical and oil tankers, his various roles since then have concentrated on directing the operation of Offshore Support Vessels.
Most recently he was director of Strategic Delivery with Bibby Offshore operating a fleet of Offshore Support Vessels including Dive Support and Construction Support Vessels.
Michael Cowlam, Seacroft’s technical director, said: “Gary has already proved in the time he has been with us that he will be a great asset to the team moving forward and I’m delighted to welcome him to Seacroft Marine Consultants.
“His extensive experience of the sector, along with his vast knowledge will be a tremendous asset as we further develop our capabilities in more technically challenging offshore marine projects.
“He has a brilliant reputation in the industry and his skillset in directing the operation of complex marine operations including rig moves, marine warranty work and dynamic positioning will help us further expand this service offering.”
Gary added: “I am delighted to be joining Seacroft Marine Consultants and I am really looking forward to being a part of what is an extremely focused and experienced team.
“The company has a brilliant reputation in the marine sector and I am thrilled that I will be playing a part in extending specific specialised areas within it.
“I will be placing specific focus on developing Seacroft’s more complex specialised offshore operations, an area I have a lot of experience in. These offerings, which include marine warranty work, rig move and dynamic positioning have tremendous growth potential for the business.”
Launched in 1995 by Captain Roderick MacSween, Seacroft has been owned and operated by the founder’s daughter Jennifer Fraser and technical director Michael Cowlam since 2004.
With a team of 14 staff and more than 70 consultants, the company has built its reputation in the marine assurance and consultancy sphere.
Driving efficiency across all marine operations has been a key aim for the Aberdeen based business this year, leading to high demand for its diverse range of services during a period of cost reduction in the oil and gas sector.
Seacroft Marine Consultants’ expertise includes marine assurance packages, OVID and CMID inspections, marine warranty work, rig move services, International Safety Management audits, safety audits and inspections, incident investigation and dynamic positioning assurance as well as simulator training in ship handling and bridge team management and specialist recovery and rescue assurance services.
