Fjord Processing exhibits at Offshore Europe
Being among the exhibitors at Offshore Europe 2015 in Aberdeen, Fjords Processing used the opportunity to make several key announcements about the company's focus on growing key competences and business areas, the unveiling of a new head office for the UK operation and the establishment of the new company brand.
The event also gave the company a chance to tell delegates at Europe's largest oil and gas conference more about the firm's new aspirations for growing operations in the North Sea and in the Middle East.
It allowed the opportunity to explain how Fjords Processing uses its expertise to help operators with their cashflow by saving money and securing faster returns, especially on brownfield sites.
"We have good news for the industry. We are a key player in greenfield development, but the production optimisation we can provide in brownfield sites is also an attractive proposition to field operators at a time when they are in particular dealing with the pressures of curtailed capital spending and profits", Rune Fantoft, chief executive officer (CEO) of Fjords Processing, explains.
"Operators want to produce more oil even though they don't want to invest that much into production. Our aim is to support them in realising this."
The company can extend the life of mature fields where the company's across-the-board services provide world-class, bespoke technology, equipment and expertise for operators to maximise efficiencies at a time of lower cash returns and restricted investment.
Further opportunities for expansion are being progressed in green and brownfield development.
Recently won brownfield contracts
Fjords Processing recently won three strategically important brownfield contracts in Qatar, Australia and the Central North Sea, which further strengthens the company, now numbering at more than 600 staff across 17 countries. The contracts consist of:
New offices in the UK
Fjords Processing's new UK base was unveiled 3 September in Frimley (Surrey, England) by CEO Rune Fantoft. Recent advances have also seen offices well established in Dubai, two new posts created in Aberdeen and a similar number in Orkney where a £1 million upgrade has been completed at the laboratory and testing facilities there.
"We have a global presence but with a strong local focus and have the capabilities to understand and resolve many of the specific challenges facing operators. Being a supplier with a broad portfolio of processing wellstream technologies, we aim at designing tailored and efficient solutions. Our capability to be a strategic partner on the full journey, from the drawing board right through the delivery of bespoke solutions to excellent aftercare services puts us in a unique position. We can save them money, extend the life of current operations and help to ease cashflow pain", Fantoft says.
Glen McLellan, Orkney-based UK general manager at Fjords Processing, tells that its staff in Aberdeen will provide advice on process technology solutions to operators as part of the strategy to increase business in the brownfield site market.
"At a time of general contraction among companies in the North Sea, we have put new staff into Aberdeen to target new business", he says.
Opus Maxim becomes Fjords Processing
Senior colleagues also outlined the new company branding during Offshore Europe 2015. Opus, with its UK bases in Surrey and Orkney, was acquired in 2013 and formally changed its name from Opus Maxim to Fjords Processing Ltd on 1 September.
It marks just the latest positive chapter in the Fjords Processing (former Aker Process Systems) story following our evolution from the division of the Norwegian company Aker Solutions.
