NCS Multistage's Ravensbergen receives 2015 SPE award

NCS Multistage, LLC, has announced that John Ravensbergen, P.Eng., the company's Vice President of research and development, received the 2015 SPE Regional Technology Award for Canada. The award will be presented at the 2015 SPE/CSUR conference in October.

The Regional Technology Award acknowledges exceptional individuals who have contributed to the Society of Petroleum Engineers at the sectional or regional level and recognises singular devotion of time and effort to development of technical expertise. Ravensbergen received the award for his contributions to the development of the NCS MultiCycle™ frack sleeve, the industry's first commercially successful reclosable frack sleeve.

Canadian Regional Director for SPE International, Darcy Spady, said, “SPE is proud of our members such as John, as they represent the leading edge of the first words of the SPE mission: to collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge. As a member of the Board of SPE International, representing Canada, I am pleased to single out individuals in our region who push the envelope with robust technical solutions, and John embodies that effort in the field of Completions Optimisation and Technology.”

Ravensbergen has 24 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, holds 18 patents, has authored or co-authored numerous SPE papers, and is the recipient of many awards and honors for his technology leadership in the industry.
