Oilfield Technology,

MAN Diesel & Turbo

MAN Diesel & Turbo is a leading global provider of large bore diesel engines for marine and stationary applications and is also one of the leading suppliers of turbomachinery on the global market. The company employs approximately 14 500 people at more than 100 sites around the globe.

The turbomachinery division of MAN Diesel & Turbo (formerly known as MAN Turbo) provides a wide range of products and services, from single casing compressors, expanders and turbines up to large multi casing trains including various types of turbine drivers and/or electric motors for nearly all industrial applications, including: oil and gas production, transportation and subsequent downstream processing. Full train responsibility with maximum efficiency and reliability throughout the entire lifetime is one of the company’s core strengths.

Custom made centrifugal, axial and process gas screw compressors are capable of handling volume flows up to 1.5 million m3/hr and pressures up to 1000 bar, according to the specific customer requirements. Steam turbines are available for both mechanical drive as well as power generation applications up to 160 MW, while the gas turbine portfolio covers the range between 6 – 13 MW. The portfolio of axial  and radial expanders are available for power outputs up to 30 MW.

Major references include world scale turbomachinery for oil and gas processing, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), fluidised catalytic cracking (FCC), iron and steel production and air separation, as well as very large machine trains for purified terephthalic acid (PTA), fertiliser production, ethylene plants and xTL.

Moreover, DWE®-Reactors also belong to the turbomachinery division. The product range includes reactors and heavy apparatus for chemical and petrochemical processes (e.g. fluid catalytic cracking) as well as physical process systems. Currently, these reactors are in use for 77 different processes for 53 products.

Neuman & Esser

Reciprocating compressors with an extent up to 100 000 Nm3/hr of suction volume, 30 000 kW driving power and 1000 bar discharge pressure for natural and technical gas compression are ‘Made in Germany’ by NEUMAN & ESSER (NEA). The worldwide network of NEA engineering centres complete the compressor to skid mounted systems. A wide ranging product portfolio of sizes and construction configurations, operating as lube and non lube, are available to satisfy customer needs for tailored solutions according to API 618. Numerous simulations of operating parts ensure the longevity of the compressor in real time operation.

The modern and robust reciprocating compressor systems are in use in the chemical and petrochemical industries, as well as the natural gas and regenerative energy sectors. Especially customers in the demanding CO2 and enhanced oil recovery (E.O.R.) markets appreciate this leading compression technology.

NEAC Compressor Service

The service provider, NEAC Compressor Service, completes the NEA product portfolio. With service centres around the globe, NEAC serves customers as a specialist for assembly, start up commissioning, repairs and modernisation. Solutions to minimise shutdowns and maintenance costs are worked out in technical consultations with customers. This guarantees maximum operating availability.

Comprehensive service with spare parts for reciprocating compressors of inhouse design and other brands ensure supply of 24 hours a day, 365 days/y. Today NEAC is the OEM service provider of NEA and 10 former product lines: Halberg, Linde, KSB, Erhardt & Sehmer, Demag, Mafa Wurzen, Chicago Pneumatic, GHH Esslinger high pressure compressors, Borsig for the former reciprocating compressor series built in Berlin until 1995 and Penn Process Compressors.

Bluestroke

The topic of energy efficiency is being increasingly put to the fore. Therefore, NEA developed various flow control systems for reciprocating compressors. One of these systems is BLUESTROKE® optimising the efficiency of new machines; but it can also be retrofitted to compressors which are already installed.

With the performance adapted flow control BLUESTROKE®, the compressor’s electrical power consumption decreases linearly with a decreasing volume flow and vice versa. This considerably reduces the operation costs of the reciprocating compressor.

PROGNOST

PROGNOST Systems GmbH is passionate about developing and producing the world's best monitoring technology.

The company offers condition monitoring systems and diagnostic services based on over 20 years experience in recording, analysing and interpreting high frequency status data for rotating equipment.

Locations in Europe and USA, along with worldwide partners, guarantee responsive and reliable on site support.

Equipment

The systems and services of PROGNOST Systems are based upon many years of technical experience and competence in the acquisition, automated evaluation, and interpretation of condition data for reciprocating machinery.

The advantage of a PROGNOST® system is quantifiable. The company will help you assess the profitability of a PROGNOST® installation based on the individual machine and operation data. In most cases, the purchase price is recovered within just a few months. The company guarantees a realistic review, based on real world data.

The vital role of a machinery protection system to mitigate the risk of serious damages is covered by PROGNOST®-SILver, a certified SIL 2 hardware that provides operators with machine protection analyses that are recognised and proven worldwide. It processes sensor data from up to eight machines, with a maximum of 68 sensors in one monitoring unit. An optional ring buffer allows subsequent root cause analyses after automatic shutdowns.

PROGNOST®-SILver can be upgraded to a PROGNOST®-NT at any time.

PROGNOST®-NT is an automated machinery diagnostic system incorporating safety protection and online condition monitoring. It is developed specifically for reciprocating machinery but is also used for different kinds of rotating equipment. It detects impending failures at an early stage and assigns the affected components. Operation critical damages are avoided and maintenance measures can be performed efficiently.

Continuous dialog with more than 100 companies from the oil, gas, chemical, and petrochemical contribute to the ongoing optimisation of PROGNOST products and services. Customers reward this focused approach with high marks for satisfaction and long standing loyalty.
