Huntingdon Fusion Techniques introduces new tungsten electrodes

Published by , Editor
Oilfield Technology,

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques Ltd. has recently developed its MultiStrike® tungsten electrodes in an attempt to address growing concerns about the radiotoxic thoria in standard red tipped tungsten electrodes. This improvement offers benefits in quality, cost, safety and ease-of-use, according to Huntingdon Fusion Techniques.

MultiStrike tungsten electrodes are suitable for a variety of welding operations

The MultiStrike has no radiotoxic and carcinogenic dopants such as thoria, therefore, there is no hazardous dust that could be inhaled during grinding. The product strikes arcs 10 times more than a red tipped thoriated tungsten when each was tested under the same conditions.

The new tungsten electrodes product is suitable for a wide variety of welding operations, particularly welding titanium, stainless steel and aluminium AC and DC.

Benefits of Huntingdon Fusion Techniques’ new solution

TIG welding is made cheaper through the use of MultiStrike tungsten electrodes. The product is designed to have a longer life with more strikes per electrode before re-grinding and requiring, less re-work, less wastage and lower power requirements.
