UK companies supplying products and services to the energy industries will join many of the world’s leading power operators, such as EDF Energy and Centrica, and major contractors including Alstom, Siemens and Doosan Power Systems, for a high-profile industry event.

The Energy Industries Council’s EIC Connect Energy 2015, which takes place in November, will highlight new opportunities on major power, nuclear and renewable energy projects around the world.

The biennial event will see UK operators lead on sessions tackling the sector’s current challenges, identifying potentially lucrative global energy projects and highlighting the ways UK businesses can get involved. They will also emphasise the need for adaptability, focusing on how UK oil and gas supply chain companies can transfer their existing technologies to solutions for the sustainable energy sector. Throughout the exhibition, UK suppliers will learn about vendor requirements from multi-national contractors who are keen to source new technologies and innovations. UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) commercial officers from around the globe will also be available to advise companies wanting an insight into how to do business locally.

Showcase opportunity

Bob Bianchi, Business Development Director at Boulting Group and the Chairman of the Event Advisory Group for EIC Connect Energy, says: “EIC Connect Energy is a wonderful opportunity for companies from the UK to showcase their global capabilities, share knowledge and create new business. This will help to achieve even greater co-operation between operators, contractors and suppliers.”

EIC Connect Energy 2015 will be held at Manchester Central from 24-25 November 2015 and comprises conference sessions, vendor briefings and personal appointments with companies across the power generation industry.
