New clamp on flowmeters from Katronic

Oilfield Technology,

Katronic has released a new range of flowmeters. The new equipment will be presented at this year’s Hannover Exhibition.

The new KATflow 170 flowmeter is designed around a choice of pressure encapsulated housings available in either an offshore complient epoxy coated aluminium, or stainless steel. The erosion resistant material is manufactured to withstand harsh environmental conditions in order to ensure the long term integrity of the transmitter and continued reliable measurement.

All commands to the device are entered through the glass fronted keypad using a simple magnetic pen. Hence, the soundness of the housing is ensured due to the fact that the enclosure needn’t be opened when programming and commissioning.

Reliability if further enhanced by encapsulated IP 68 transducers, manufactured from stainless steel. Transducers can be clamped onto the external surface of the pipe and are ready for operation within minutes.

KATflow meters operate at resolution 0.25 mm/s, and the accuracy of floe velocity measurement is +/- 0.5%. In order to provide greater accuracy in non-ideal flow conditions the KATflow 170 can be operated with two measurement channels for a two path mounting configuration on a single pipe. Alternatively, this feature enables the flow meter to simultaneously measure, and output independent flow readings from two separate pipelines.

The KATflow 170 covers a pipe diameter range from 10 mm to over 3000 mm and process temperatures from -50 °C - +115 °C.

The system is ATEX certified for hazardous zones 1 and 2.
