Specialist in the care and maintenance of oil country tubular goods, Ramco, has signed a five year contract with Marubeni Itochu Tubulars Oceania (MITO) in Australia.

Ramco awarded tubular management contract

The AUS$7 million deal involves Ramco’s Western Australia operation, providing total tubular management services such as the storage, care, maintenance and preparation of tubulars for MITO’s clients, including major oil and gas operator, Quadrant Energy.

This MITO contract will be managed by Ramco through a dedicated 100 000 m2 facility. The company will use its PCU3 technology that is designed to offer operational efficiency for internal and external cleaning and treatment of drill pipe, casing and tubulars.

The semi-automated PCU3 uses a self-contained reusable water system which reduces the need to dispose of waste water and operates to the highest environmental standards.

Jason Hughes, Australia General Manager at Ramco, said: “With new drilling projects being planned in Australia, we look forward to supporting MITO with the care and maintenance of a large volume of tubular goods over the coming months and years.”

MITO is a key oil country tubular goods supplier with a market presence in the region spanning 30 years. Ketut Wiryadi, General Manager – Business Development at MITO, said: “We collaborate with our customers, suppliers and service providers to create industry best OCTG supply chain solutions and we are pleased to have Ramco on board.”
