DOP submersible dredge pumps have been designed and built by Damen Dredging Equipment since they were first introduced to the market. Drawing on its 50 years of experience in the field, Damen Dredging Equipment produced a range that, to this day, features high pressure submersible dredge pumps that have large diameter passages in the impellers; up to 200 mm.

DOP submersible dredge pumps also create a high head, enabling them to pump dredged material over a distance of up to 1000 m using a single pump. As DOP pumps only work when submerged, they create a fairly high mixture concentration, thereby boosting efficiency. They can also operate at depths of up to 500 m below sea level.

Damen’s compact and tough dredge pumps are well known for their durability and many different uses. The wide range of heavy-duty DOP submersible dredge pumps and the variety of suction heads available means that there is a model for almost any dredging job. Sand mining, bed levelling, barge unloading and removing compacted soils can all be accommodated. There is even a version for dredging clay using a specially designed disc bottom cutter. They can also be fitted with electric drives for use as mobile booster stations.

Proven versatility

Overall, the DOP submersible dredge pump is a powerful dredging tool. Over the past 25 years it has proven its versatility and the effectiveness of the heavy duty designs. It has become an essential component, designed to give years of dependable service in the rough business of dredging. However challenging the assignment, Damen’s range of DOP submersible dredge pumps has the model and accessories to get the job done.

For nearly all vessel types Damen offers a broad range of services, including maintenance, spare parts delivery, training and the transfer of (shipbuilding) know-how. Damen also offers a variety of marine components, such as nozzles, rudders, anchors, anchor chains and steel works.

In addition to ship design and shipbuilding, Damen Shiprepair & Conversion has a worldwide network of 15 repair and conversion yards with dry docks ranging up to 420 x 80 m. Conversion projects range from adapting vessels to today’s requirements and regulations to the complete conversion of large offshore structures. DSC completes around 1500 repair and maintenance jobs annually.
