Fendercare Australia achieve DNV GL accreditation

The Fendercare Australia Lifting and Testing Services division provide a full range of container equipment from portable rigging lofts to 40ft containers, supplied to worksite requirements including DNV 2.7-1 & 3 Part. They also have manufacturing and repair capabilities for all types of lifting sets to DNV2.7-1 DNV GL Standards for Certification 2.7-1, 2, and 3 represent a suite of globally-recognised standards for the certification of offshore service containers, and the culmination of three decades of research, development and evolution by DNV GL experts. No other class society or certification provider can match DNV GL’s body of knowledge and expertise relating to temporary equipment, and only DNV GL can offer comprehensive certification services. The Australia Lifting and Testing Services Division supply required designs, modifications and deliveries to support projects. Their team of experienced technicians facilitate all certification requirements including 12 month visual inspection, 4 year NDT Inspection and proof load testing after modifications or repairs. Working from their Henderson and Karratha branches, the technicians can conduct the inspections and testing either onsite or in-house.

Global standards

“Receiving this accreditation gives real peace of mind to our customers, safe in the knowledge that our container service meets globally approved standards,” commented Damian Fracaro, Fendercare Australia’s Operations Manager. “Following on from our NATA accreditation last year, this is another vote of confidence in the best practices that Fendercare Marine adopt and further supports our position as a key supplier to the energy industry.”

The Fendercare Lifting and Testing Services division incorporates a wire and synthetic rope supply and testing centre. Their wide range of facilities include a 600t and 300t wire rope swaging machine, full onsite NDT/MPI inspection and certification service and a 300t & 100t proof load testing machine. The Henderson base also recently received accreditation for several of its Lifting Services from the prestigious National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA). Since its inception in 1988, Fendercare Marine has rapidly expanded to become one of the world’s foremost suppliers of marine products and services. In 2005, Fendercare Marine became a part of James Fisher and Sons plc, a leading provider of marine services with extensive experience in the marine and offshore industries worldwide.

In 2010, Fendercare Marine opened its first base in Australia and have expanded to provide a complete service to the offshore oil and gas industry and Ports throughout the region. From their bases in Henderson and Karratha they stock a wide range of deck and mooring, fendering, flotation, buoyancy, navigation and load monitoring equipment as well as fender hire, rope splicing and Lifting and Testing.
