Equinor granted consent to use Songa Endurance at Troll

The Petroleum Safety Authority have given Equinor Energy AS (Equinor) consent to use Songa Endurance for drilling, completion and slot recovery of well 31/2 D-7 BY1H/BY2H/BY3H on the Troll field in the North Sea.

The operation is scheduled to start in December 2018 and estimated to last 117 days.

The well is located on the Troll field at the following geographical coordinates:

  • 60° 51' 24.2238 N
  • 03° 26' 41.2945 E

Water depth at the site is 335.1 m.

Songa Endurance is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the CAT D type. It was delivered by the Daewoo yard in South Korea in 2016, is registered in Norway and classified by DNV-GL.
