Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), the world-leading marine, cargo and supply chain solutions provider, has won a new contract with MSI Ship Management Pte Ltd to provide crew logistics services (CLS) across the globe.

Under the new contract, MSI Ship Management will assign numerous vessels including bulk carriers, VLOCs, chemical and product tankers to ISS to help streamline and improve its crew transfer service worldwide.

Singapore-based MSI Ship Management specialises in international ship management services, handling over 2500 seafarers globally, with 1500 at sea at any one time. With crew costs a major part of operating expenses for ship managers, ISS will be working in partnership with MSI to improve efficiency using its centralised planning and execution of crew changes and is expecting to achieve at least an initial 5% reduction of costs for MSI.

ISS has developed a CLS solution for MSI Ship Management based on its fleet profile and trading areas aligned to operational efficiency. By providing ISS’ CLS solution through its 24/7 Vessel Supply Chain Hub, co-ordinated with its global network of husbandry agents to ensure a full crew transfer service, ISS will also deliver direct cost savings through its standard fixed tariffs and competitive rates worldwide.

Comments Capt Trond Baade, Senior Vice President, Marine Outsourcing Services, ISS: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with MSI to help streamline its crew logistics services. As a strategic partner, we’ll support MSI in achieving its cost saving objectives while providing exceptional crew transfer and welfare services.”
