Oilfield Technology,
Welltrain and ModuResources General Manager, Paul Wee, said: “The company had been looking for premises within the CBD for some time. This initiative is part of Welltrain’s Global Reach programme, making compulsory training like Well Control accessible to all working within the Energy Sector.”
Welltrain currently has 10 Well Control Training centres dotted around the Asia Pacific region catering for crew where most needed.
The new centre has been modernised and renovated to suit Welltrain. The two large training rooms, office design as well as the full-sized simulated rig floor and control room allow candidates to grasp Well Control in a more realistic, involved approach rather than the typical classroom atmosphere. Welltrain hopes to give candidates an exciting training experience with a difference, rather than just providing “the need to have BOP ticket”.
The new centre will allow for a range of “hands on” niche courses including:
- Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD)
- IWCF Level 5
- IWCF Enhanced Well Control (Level 4.5)
- HPHT
- Stuck Pipe Prevention
- IWCF/IADC Drilling Well Control Night School
In addition to a host of shorter day courses, Welltrain can assist Operators with Drilling Well on Paper (DWOP) or Drilling Well on Simulator (DWOS) workshops prior to commencing a new campaign.
Wee said that the company is elated to be the first to host the new IWCF Level 5 course in the Asia Pacific market, in collaboration with The Well Academy.
As well as being a new and additional training facility for Welltrain, it is also the new Australian head office for ModuResources. This centre will allow ModuResources to run related training courses for industry professionals, including:
- Rig Inspection in Safe Environment (RISE)
- Subsea Well Intervention Training
- Asset Health Check
- Asset Management Maturity Assessment (AMMA)
