Neptune Marine Services (Neptune) is targeting further growth overseas with its new office in the US.

Supported by the demand from the company’s key North Sea clientele, Neptune has established an office in Houston, Texas. Operating under the name Neptune Subsea Inc., it will enable Neptune to provide the full suite of Neptune’s services to clients within the Gulf of Mexico and the Americas.

John Allen, a Houston based strategic business development advisor, formerly of GE Oil and Gas has been appointed to drive the expansion and maximise Neptune’s opportunities in the region.

The expansion has been supported by Scottish Development International, the international arm of Scottish Enterprise. Funding was awarded to Neptune Subsea Engineering in Spring 2016 for Company Growth Business Support for expansion into the Gulf of Mexico.

Robin King, Neptune CEO, said:

“Our expansion into the US was a strategic initiative planned to provide key clients in the US with the technical expertise they have grown to expect from Neptune. We are optimistic about the potential opportunities that our presence in the US will deliver and look forward to expanding our client relationships in the region.”

Globally, Neptune provides bespoke engineering solutions as well as survey, ROV, inspection repair and maintenance, pipeline stabilisation and diving services to oil & gas operators in Australasia, the Middle East, the North Sea and now the Americas.

Kevin Stephen, Neptune’s Operations and Business Development Director for Europe, Mediterranean and Africa, added:

“We are delighted that the office in Houston is now in place. I would like to thank Scottish Enterprise for their support and advice which was a key factor in enabling Neptune’s expansion to become a reality.

Houston-based Scottish Development International oil and gas manager, Shannon Norstrud, said: “Looking to new international markets to grow Scotland’s oil and gas sector is a must. International activity already accounts for more than half of Scotland’s total oil and gas activities with North America alone delivering over £2.4 billion of sales. Supporting ambitious and growing companies like Neptune to maximise these opportunities is a priority for us and we congratulate Neptune on making this bold move and I wish them every success for the future.”
