Oilfield Technology,
This month marks the tenth anniversary of the acquisition of Steadfast Scotland by The Marla Group, a milestone that reflects a decade of growth, collaboration and innovation.

The acquisition in 2016 brought together two well-established businesses with complementary strengths. Steadfast Scotland's three decades of expertise and reputation as a leading manufacturer of high-integrity bolting solutions enhanced The Marla Group's existing presence in the oil and gas sector, alongside HPF Energy, a global supplier of pipes, fittings and flanges, and Promat, a specialist supplier of forged products.
The acquisition strengthened the Group's ability to deliver a more comprehensive offering to customers, combining manufacturing excellence, extensive stockholding capabilities and specialist product expertise under one umbrella. Over the last decade, this strategic alignment has created new opportunities for growth, collaboration and innovation across the businesses.
Over the last decade, the businesses have continued to evolve. In 2022, Steadfast and HPF Energy Services joined forces at a shared Aberdeen facility, bringing together Steadfast's manufacturing expertise and HPF Energy's extensive stockholding of steel products. Today, the site is home to a collaborative team of 41 employees and extensive warehousing and manufacturing capabilities, enabling the businesses to provide an enhanced service to customers across the globe.
Looking ahead, the future remains bright as the organisations continue to diversify into emerging sectors including renewables, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and nuclear. Together, they pride themselves on their agility, technical expertise and ability to deliver bespoke solutions, supporting customers from design and manufacture through to deployment.
Steadfast Scotland Division Director, Scott Macleod, said: “Over the past decade, Steadfast has thrived as part of The Marla Group, driven by sustained investment, strong collaboration and a clear vision for growth. By pairing our manufacturing expertise with the Group’s complementary product range and experience in new markets, we’ve expanded our capabilities and unlocked fresh opportunities. We’re continuing to invest in stock, machinery and resources, and it’s an exciting moment for the business as we look ahead to the next decade of growth.”
HPF Energy Aberdeen Director, Lucy Clinton-Massie, added: “Looking back over the past four years, bringing HPF Energy and Steadfast together has felt like a natural partnership from the very beginning. Sharing the same site has allowed our teams to work more closely, build stronger relationships and combine our expertise to deliver an even better service for our customers. It has been rewarding to see how this collaboration has strengthened both businesses, creating a more resilient, customer-focused organisation. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together and the strong foundation we’ve built for the future. As the energy sector continues to change and present new opportunities, we’re excited about what lies ahead and confident that we’re well placed to support our customers across both traditional and emerging markets for many years to come.”
