ABB Turbocharging, the leading provider for the manufacture and maintenance of turbochargers for 500 kW to 80+ MW diesel and gas engines, has signed a long-term Maintenance Management Agreement (MMA) with Dynagas Ltd. The service contract covers all Dynagas TFDE (tri-fuel diesel electric) vessels: Arctic Aurora, Yenisei River, Lena River, Clean Planet, Clean Ocean, Clean Horizon and Clean Vision.

In order to ensure the reliability of operation of all the 42 turbochargers operating on Dynagas Ltd vessels, ABB Turbocharging is fully accountable for scheduling in advance turbochargers’ regular servicing for a period of 3 years, relieving the customer of both the technical and administrative workload.

ABB Turbocharging is able to provide valuable information to its customer for its service needs based on turbochargers’ condition. The benefits offered to the customer under this agreement include an annual budget plan, advance service recommendations, and a single point of contact, including full access to over 50 service locations worldwide. The fully managed services by ABB Turbocharging will assist Dynagas Ltd to reduce operating costs significantly and maximise application engine uptime.

"We are proud that Dynagas Ltd has chosen to benefit from the advantages that an ABB Turbocharging MMA service agreement can offer. This agreement designates us as a reliable partner to our customer, enabling optimisation of turbochargers’ lifecycle and offering first class maintenance services." says John Smyrneos, ABB Turbocharging Manager for Greece and Cyprus.

“Through this contract we can work even closer with ABB Turbocharging. It signifies the reliable services that ABB Turbocharging can offer for predictive maintenance,” says Christos Vlachos, Technical Manager of Dynagas Ltd. “We believe that with ABB’s industry knowledge, full-service support and transparency we will be able to achieve increased turbocharger efficiency with minimal downtime, greater predictability in our maintenance budget plan and reduced operating costs.”

The flexibility offered by MMA has made it an attractive service option for customers. More than 300 customers currently entrust ABB Turbocharging with over 15 000 turbochargers within the MMA framework.
