Cyberhawk, the world’s leading engineering company using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), has been named a finalist in two categories at this year’s Energy Innovation Awards.

The company has been shortlisted for ‘Best Offshore Renewables Innovation’ and ‘Best Safety Improvement’, for its use of UAVs across the offshore wind and electricity utilities sectors. The company has demonstrated significant cost, time and safety improvements through the use of UAVs for aerial and inspection.

A key part of Cyberhawk’s entries was iHawk, its proprietary, cloud based asset management software. iHawk has been subject to continual development, with modules created specifically tailored to the wind and utilities industries. This software, teamed with industry qualified inspection engineers and experienced pilots, allows Cyberhawk to offer clients a full inspection engineering service.

Organisers of the awards commented on an uplift in entries from SMEs, which indicated increased engagement between energy providers and smaller innovators to use ground-breaking technologies in a collaborative way.

Chris Fleming, CEO at Cyberhawk said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted in two categories, which is testament to the hard work of our team. Having begun life almost ten years ago, Cyberhawk has grown from strength to strength and we are now an internationally operating company working across a variety of sectors. Our whole team is proud to receive this recognition and we’re looking forward to the ceremony in a couple of months’ time!”

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, 28 September at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool. For details of the full shortlist, please visit: http://energyinnovationcentre.com/uk-energy-innovation-awards-shortlist-highlights-increased-sme-engagement-sector/
