Lundin Petroleum commences Bambazon exploration well

Lundin Malaysia BV, Lundin Petroleum’s wholly owned subsidiary, has reported that it has begun the drilling of the Bambazon exploration well in Block SB307/SB308, offshore East Malaysia.

The well will be drilled to a total depth of approximately 1250 m below mean sea level using the West Prospero jack-up rig.

The Bambazon prospect is in shallow water and lies to the north of a major producing field in offshore East Malaysia. The well will target hydrocarbons in Miocene aged sands. Drilling is anticipated to take 25 days.
