Bureau Veritas (BV) has been awarded a contract by MISC Berhad (MISC), a world leading provider of energy related maritime solutions and services, to deploy and support the VeristarAIM3D ‘software as a solution’ system to provide asset integrity services on selected MISC FPS systems: the Floating Storage & Offloading (FSO) vessel - FSO Benchama 2 and the Floating Production, Storage & Offloading (FPSO) vessels - MaMPU1 and FPSO Cendor.

Veristar AIM3D is BV’s sophisticated, full life-cycle Asset Integrity Management System, developed in partnership with Dassault Systèmes. Released in April 2017, it incorporates a unique combination of 3D enabling a digital twin of assets with smart data processing, via a connected platform to enable data collection, updates, visualisation, and data processing – with clear visibility through dashboards.

Veristar AIM3D will be used by MISC’s Offshore integrity management teams to plan interventions, provide onboard contractors with detailed work instructions and to evaluate continuously asset condition. The implementation of the Veristar AIM3D software is expected to enhance MISC’s operations in terms of asset integrity management, through a new way of working in a collaborative environment that will lead to smarter decision making, improved performance, cost optimisation and improved risk management.

With 50 years of experience, the principal businesses of MISC Group comprise energy shipping and its related activities, owning and operating offshore floating solutions, marine repair and conversion, engineering and construction works, integrated marine services, port and terminal services as well as maritime education and training. MISC Group, through its Offshore Business Unit is currently one of the largest FSO/FPSO owner-operators in the world with 14 assets in strategic locations including Malaysia, Vietnam and Brazil.

Matthieu de Tugny, COO, Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore said: ‘Using Veristar AIM 3D will enable MISC to benefit from a state of the art Asset Integrity Management system tool facilitating the surveys and inspection process to optimise asset performance. Bureau Veritas is very pleased to work in partnership with MISC in this project and we will provide the necessary support in ensuring its successful implementation.’
