Survivex develops safety service for Nexen Petroleum

Nexen Petroleum UK Ltd, a global oil and gas company, has had a customised safety service package created for them by established training provider, Survivex. Included in the package designed for Nexen Petroleum UK is the creation and delivery of a Loler Responsible Person training course and the production of safety media to issue to personnel as reference materials.

The training course has been specifically developed for those who are required to authorise lifting plans. Its focus is on active learning and hands-on exercises, whilst the safety media includes: flip cards that share instructions for lifting equipment inspection, safety posters and handbooks.

Survivex’s Technical Manager, Neil McKinnon, commented: “The production of safety media sits very well beside our existing service lines and is particularly useful when utilised in conjunction with our training courses. Through this service we have developed some generic handbooks which will be of relevance to any organisation, but we can also work with clients to produce customised material covering company specific processes and procedures.”

Other business for Survivex

Demand for Survivex’s services has been increasing in recent months. Recent work by Survivex includes a handbook focusing on rigging and lifting operations that is being translated into South American Portuguese and Arabic following interest from clients in these areas and Survivex anticipates similar translations for land rig moves.

In addition, further publications are in production stage, including a crane operations handbook and an illustrative safe lifting handbook.
