EM&I completes NoMan® trial for Super Major in the North Sea

This recent trial consisted of a competition comparing NoMan with traditional rope access and UAV (drone) techniques.

The work was completed as planned whereas the other methods being evaluated took significantly longer as the tanks needed to be prepared for human entry.

The client has now requested proposals for a fleetwide agreement starting with assets in other parts of the world where the NoMan equipment will be deployed through an ODIN^® gas tight port which will further reduce tank preparation requirements.

Neil Woodcock (RGM Europe Africa) said “This project follows the successful completion of the annual tank survey program for another North Sea Oil Major using NoMan”.

NoMan has also been used to complete several pressure vessel inspection programs, again without man entry, further expanding its applications from just Cargo Oil and Water Ballast Tanks.

Pat Lawless (CEO) said, “Our team successfully completed the task safely and to the satisfaction of the client with a crew of only two people and to the complete satisfaction of the client. I am sure we will see NoMan adopted by other FPSO operators and we are evaluating its potential for the FLNG and FSRU markets”.
