CGG has announced the start of acquisition of its first complementary wide-azimuth (CWAz) survey, known as AC CWAz, a BroadSeis™ 3D multi-client programme in southern Alaminos Canyon, Gulf of Mexico.

The associated prospects are located in two promising plays and areas of the GoM: Wilcox in Central GoM next to the Anchor discovery, and Norphlet in Eastern GoM nearby to the Appomattox discovery.

The Board of Directors of Armour Energy Limited has announced that Armour has been granted the exploration licence for the Kanywataba Block in the Albertine Graben in Uganda.

The contract will see Bell Geospace fly FTG surveys across 12 000 square kilometres onshore in the Republic of Guinea’s Bove basin and 1366 square kilometres of the onshore coastal strip of Liberia lying within the known extent of the Roberts-Bassa basin.

As a result of this agreement, CGG will shortly commence acquisition of a new multi-client survey of up to 40 000 km2 of 3D data over the Beira High in the Zambezi Delta.

Lundin Petroleum AB has announced that Statoil AS has completed the Korpfjell exploration well 7435/12-1 in PL859 in the southeastern Barents Sea. The well proved a small, non-commercial gas discovery.

The Goanna licence is located in the northern part of the Norwegian North Sea, near the border with the UK and adjacent to the giant producing Statfjord and Snorre fields.

CGG has announced the start of work on Espirito Santo IV, a large BroadSeis™ 3D multi-client survey in the deep and ultra-deep waters of the Espirito Santo Basin offshore Brazil.
