Directional Coiled Tubing Drilling (DCTD) provider, AnTech Ltd, has officially launched its Saudi Arabian presence at its new premises in Al-Khobar. An integral part of the company’s global growth strategy, AnTech’s new Middle East facility is the result of significant investment from Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures (SAEV) and Calculus Capital.

AnTech is one of only three BHA providers to be offering a DCTD service in the region, and is blazing an aspirational trail for companies of a similar size by entering this marketplace as an SME and competing against two of the world’s largest oilfield services companies. Theirs is the first standalone DCTD workshop in Saudi Arabia and brings a unique, focused service approach.

Hosted by AnTech managing director, Toni Miszewski, together with the company’s Saudi-based agent, Anas Al-Shuwayer, the MD of Anas Al-Shuwayer Contracting (ASCE), the event saw attendance from some of the region’s key industry personnel.

Mr Miszewski is delighted to have marked the commencement of the company’s Middle East operation by welcoming guests from Saudi Aramco, SAEV, UKTI and other companies active in the region: “This launch heralds another exciting period of growth for AnTech. The Middle East is a critical target market for our business, where many of our clients already operate, and the backing of SAEV and Calculus Capital has provided us with the wherewithal to bring our tools, services and skills to the area. We can now truly demonstrate AnTech’s specialist DCTD services, which we believe will provide significant benefits to the region.”

SAEV’s investment in AnTech reflects its mission to invest globally in high growth companies with technologies that have a strategic importance to the Saudi area. Commenting on the investment in AnTech, SAEV management said: “Directional Coiled Tubing Drilling services are in great use in Saudi Arabia, and we believe that AnTech’s products will allow DCTD methods to be applied to a wider variety of applications, with lower costs and improved outcomes.”
