Jee announces training partnership with KOSHIPA

Oilfield Technology,

Jee Ltd, the independent multi-discipline subsea engineering and training firm, has announced a partnership with the Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association (KOSHIPA) to deliver its subsea engineering courses to the shipping industry.

Jee signed a memorandum of agreement with KOSHIPA in November last year for the provision of its courses, due to begin in 2014. Under the agreement, Jee will send its UK-based tutors to South Korea to deliver its subsea courses to KOSHIPA’s member companies, which include major companies such as Hyundai, Samsung and Daewoo.

Jee Head of Courses, Jenny Matthew, commented: “We are very proud to join forces with an organisation as prestigious as KOSHIPA. At Jee we are passionate about learning and development, and the team is very excited to work in collaboration with such a well-established organisation to deliver a tailored curriculum."

Expand horizons
“As KOSHIPA represents 90% of the global shipbuilding industry, this is a fantastic opportunity for Jee to expand its geographical horizons and share its training knowledge further afield. Our tutors will be delivering training to strengthen KOSHIPA’s members’ subsea skills base, and we look forward to learning more about the processes and development needs of KOSHIPA and its member organisations,” Matthew continued.

Jee tutors use the company’s learning techniques, which involves using the most effective learning methods for a particular course and integrates techniques such as podcasts, group discussion and traditional tutor support to optimise the learning experience.

Vice chairman of KOSHIPA, YoungJu Suh, commented: “We are very pleased to join in this partnership with Jee Ltd. The company has built up a strong reputation through its subsea training courses, and we look forward to sharing their proven curriculum with our member companies. Working with Jee will enhance our service offering and assist all of our members in widening their skills, which will directly feed back into the worldwide shipping industry.”
