Norwegian Petroleum Directorate reports: 2014 seismic acquisition complete
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has had a successful seismic season, which wound up 19 August.
Dolphin Geophysics carried out 2D seismic
Approximately 5600 km of 2D seismic has been acquired in the northern Barents Sea since 18 July. This is a continuation of the acquisitions which the NPD conducted in the southeastern and northern Barents Sea since 2011.
According to Exploration Director Sissel Eriksen, this year’s operation was very successful, and finished nearly one month ahead of schedule.
“Due to good weather and few technical issues, the acquisition was even more efficient than planned,” she says.
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate hired Dolphin Geophysics for the assignment, and the survey was carried out with the Artemis Atlantic seismic vessel. The ship has now arrived Hammerfest for demobilisation and crew change.
