Oil and gas consultancy Genesis receives IChemE skills accolade

Oilfield Technology,

Upstream oil and gas consultancy Genesis has been recognised by IChemE as an organisation that exemplifies good practice in the way they support their chemical and process engineers.

Bronze Corporate Partnership for continuing professional development policy

IChemE’s Director of Policy, Andy Furlong presented the London-based consultancy with Bronze Corporate Partnership on 15 October 2014.

Genesis has demonstrated significant investment into the continuing professional development (CPD) of their experienced and graduate chemical engineers, with their Graduate Development Programme already accredited by IChemE.

In particular, the company has developed in-house training and software packages specifically designed by experienced Genesis engineers to support the learning outcomes of their graduates.

Investing in talent

IChemE’s Andy Furlong said: “Genesis recognises that investment in chemical and process engineering talent is key to ensuring that they retain their position as one of the leading consultancies in the upstream oil and gas sector.

“The Institution is delighted to award Bronze Corporate Partner status to Genesis. They have clearly demonstrated that knowledge transfer from more experienced engineers to their graduate intake is an important way of nurturing and maintaining high standards of professional development.

“Chemical engineers at Genesis work within a high-performance and competitive industry to deliver solutions to their clients, so it’s only fitting that they join the exclusive group of organisations that have met IChemE’s required standard.”

John Cambridge, Managing Director of Genesis, stated: "This award recognises Genesis' achievements in meeting IChemE's standards for commitment to the chemical engineering profession and of meeting the Institution's international standards of training and professional development for chemical engineers."
