Polymer downhole tubing to be introduced at South Texas Oilfield Expo
Inplex is featuring its Injectorplex polymer downhole tubing at South Texas Oilfield Expo in July 2015.
“We have had a lot of response to Injectorplex because it’s less expensive, doesn’t corrode, and it lasts longer than the stainless steel tubing most companies are using,” said Inplex’s Marketing Director, Jessica Anderson. “People in the oil and gas industry are looking for ways to cut costs and our downhole tubing is part of the solution.”
Injectorplex is polymer tubing that’s resistant to damage and corrosion caused by the harsh fluids, sour gas, and high temperatures commonly present in the wellbore. The material is available in three models, including the Dual Titan Capillary Tubing system which allows for multi-cavity operation. Information on each product will be available at the 2015 South Texas Oilfield Expo, 29 - 30 July in San Antonio, TX.
Polymer versus stainless steel
Anderson says in addition to durability and performance, polymer tubing is more economical than stainless steel overall. Polymer has a longer lifecycle and its lighter weight makes it easier to deploy. Its flexibility and resistance to abrasion results in easier installation and convertibility. It all adds up to a material technology that Anderson says has the power to drastically minimise costly downtime.
“It is a new operational dimension,” she said.
2015 South Texas Oilfield Expo
Emerging technology designed to improve efficiency and cut costs, from upstream to downstream, is just one of the focuses of the 2015 South Texas Oilfield Expo. The leads we will generate at the South Texas Oilfield Expo will put us eight months ahead in sales.”
