Two new multi-client surveys in the Delaware Basin

Oilfield Technology,

FairfieldNodal has announced plans for two new multi-client surveys, Barilla Draw and DB4A, in the Delaware Basin in West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. Currently in the permitting phase, FairfieldNodal expects to complete both surveys by October 2015, offering new data as early as the end of the year.

Barilla Draw encompasses approximately 320 square miles in Reeves and Ward counties in Texas. The survey has been designed to image Wolfcamp and other objectives in multiple pay zones.

Contiguous, high-fold, wide-azimuth 3D data from a cable-free nodal system

DB4A, to be shot with FairfieldNodal’s unique ZLand® cable-free nodal system, covers approximately 260 square miles in Eddy County, New Mexico. It is the latest extension of a large regional dataset that has been shot in multiple phases over the last four years as part of a joint venture between FairfieldNodal and TRNCO Petroleum. To date, the venture has produced 1700+ miles of contiguous, high-fold, wide-azimuth 3D data.

High-quality onshore 3D seismic in the Permian Basin

“The Permian Basin is an important place to be,” says Joe Dryer, Vice President and Division Manager of Data Licensing for FairfieldNodal. “We’re committed to providing high-quality onshore 3D seismic in this region, even as the industry adjusts to current oil prices, and we’re excited to be continuing our mission there.”

Dawson Geophysical crews are set to acquire the seismic on both projects simultaneously beginning in late May.

FairfieldNodal will handle data processing out of its Denver, Colorado processing centre, which has been processing Permian Basin seismic data for over 30 years.
