Oilfield Technology,

Tendeka, the provider of completions systems and services to the upstream oil and gas industry, will showcase its SigNet™ Wireless Pressure & Temperature (PT) Gauge and FloSure™ Autonomous Inflow Control Device (AICD) at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) in Amsterdam this week (27-29 October).

Presentations based on recently published technical papers providing an overview of the performance and application of these unique technologies will take place in the RAI centre, booth 241.

The SigNet™ Wireless PT Gauge is a wireless pulse telemetry system for the on-going monitoring and optimisation of production and injection wells. The gauge sends measurements from the reservoir to the surface by briefly choking the production flow to impose intelligently created pressure variations.

Annabel Green, Tendeka’s vice president of strategy & marketing, said: “We have developed the SigNet™ wireless technology in response to market demand. The need to optimise production from new and complex reservoirs as well as increasing recovery rates from mature fields drives the deployment of downhole monitoring and control systems.

“Today’s intelligent completions must be linked back to the surface via multiple hydraulic lines, electric control-lines or a combination of the two. Wireless technology opens up new applications, providing solutions for multi-lateral wells, existing wellbores and open-hole sections.”

Tendeka’s FloSure™ AICD is designed to control produced fluids from the entire length of a horizontal well drilled in an oil reservoir and is an improvement on traditional passive ICDs.

Ismarullizam Mohd Ismail, product line manager for sand / inflow control, said: “We have developed the AICD range to help operators overcome the technological challenges of early water and gas breakthrough. The FloSure™ AICDs are run as part of the open hole completions in horizontal wells and have been designed to control gas production in low to medium viscosity oil wells, and for water control in medium to heavy oil wells.

“An AICD valve responds to fluid velocity coming into the well and adjusts flow based on the viscosity of the fluid. The development of a comprehensive modelling methodology for the evaluation of AICD performance has been a critical step in successful implementation of this technology”
