Wild Well Control Inc., a Superior Energy Services company and a leader in well control, has enhanced its presence in the Asia-Pacific Region this month with the addition of vital, permanent personnel to offer advanced well control engineering capabilities at an unprecedented pace.

Steve Nas, regional manager of Well Control Engineering – Asia-Pacific Region, brings nearly 35 years of unique problem-solving experience with a focus on underbalanced and managed pressure drilling (MPD) solutions as well as an expansive repertoire designing project-specific well control modelling software programmes.

With more than 15 years of professional experience in Southeast Asia, Nas has a wealth of regionally-based deepwater well control knowledge, having overseen the drilling of more than 200 MPD wells. In addition, his key role in the development of software for dynamic and steady-state systems offers Wild Well clients in the region optimal well control and dynamic flow modelling abilities.

Wild Well also increases its coverage of Asia Pacific with the addition of Chris Murphy, senior director of Operations – Asia-Pacific Region, to Kuala Lumpur. Murphy brings a wealth of knowledge from both operator and service company perspectives. His vast experience in dealing with project management, wells management and well control engineering presents regionally-based clients with a great opportunity to benefit from cost savings as well as prevention of well control incidents.

In 2014, Wild Well topped off a comprehensive emergency response system for the Southeast Asia region with the strategic placement of a subsea capping stack system in Singapore. Complete with debris removal shears, hardware kits for the subsea application of dispersant and inhibition fluids at a wellhead, along with ancillary equipment, the stack system is maintained in a state of deployable readiness for an unparalleled rapid response to deepwater well control incidents throughout Southeast Asia.

Wild Well’s addition of key personnel in the region mirrors its commitment to safe, offshore operational practices.
