Oilfield Technology,

The main theme of the ONS 2016 is Transition. Following on the 2015 theme of Changes, it calls for the industry to ‘take hold of the situation, and start adjusting to the new normal.’

The team of Aberdeen-based production and integrity evaluation specialist READ Cased Hole (READ) will tell you that they had been working on the ‘new normal’ solutions for a number of years now, focusing on intelligence driven technology that can maximise operational efficiency, minimise intervention cost and minimise operational risk.

READ combines best-in-class technology with best-in-market diagnostics and, concentrating over 25 years of cased hole logging experience? the company has established its reputation as a market leader in efficient and cost optimised production and integrity evaluation.

Recent contract awards with Hess Denmark and Danish energy giant Maersk Olie og Gas A/S are a testimony to READ’s expertise as well as its track record of delivering service that allows its clients to make informed decisions quickly and maximise efficiency without compromise.

In addition to the capabilities of READ’s ANSA team comprised of READ’s in-house experts who have analysed over 14 million ft of log data, the logging specialist will be showcasing its own technology, including the HPHT 40-finger calliper and ZeroTime™, a multifunctional memory logging while working system which was first launched at ICoTA in Houston earlier this year.

ZeroTime™ allows for precision diagnostic data to be acquired during high-force mechanical interventions, eliminating the need for standalone logging runs, simplifying well interventions and delivering critical decision-enabling answers in a significantly reduced time frame. So far ZeroTime™ track record has shown savings of around 24 hours and associated operating costs per well intervention. With over 800 successful surveys completed to date and approximately 400 operating days and associated costs eliminated thanks to its efficient deployment and logging methodology ZeroTime™ is proving popular with READ’s existing customers as well as operators who need fast and accurate answers.

Driven to innovate and collaborate, READ will be introducing a full range of services based on Abrado’s patented DVDes Combo camera system to the North Sea. The camera uses LiteSabre®, the most technologically advanced downhole diffuse illumination system, to deliver real time video in “reconnaissance mode,” recording full color, full-motion, 30 FPS HD footage. This new state of the art technology integrates seamlessly with READ’s full suite of well integrity and production evaluation services, including ZeroTime™ and allows customers to make informed decisions quickly and confidently.

“READ is going to ONS as the Gold Sponsor of Upstream, the official media partner of ONS 2016 and we are looking forward to showcasing our technology and, of course, visiting with industry colleagues during the event. This year’s theme, Transition, which challenges the industry to embrace the new reality, new business models for a more sustainable world goes hand in hand with READ’s agile and innovative identity,” said Roy Martin, READ’s CEO.
