Technip wins Chinese pipeline contract
COOEC has awarded Technip a pipeline installation contract for the Liwan 3-1 shallow water project, located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, China Sea, 300 km South of Hong Kong, China.
The 26o m long pipeline will link the Liwan gas platform to CNOOC’s Gaolan gas plant.
Technip’s scope covers the shallow water portion of the development project. It includes the installation of 160 km of 30 in. export oil/gas two-phase pipeline from the Liwan gas platform to a water depth of approximately 70 m.
The pipeline is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012. The offshore installation will be carried out with the Global 1201, a flagship pipelay vessel that joined Technip’s fleet through the recent acquisition of Global Industries.
