Oil States (UK) LTD, the Aberdeen headquartered oil and gas services company, is recruiting for 100 roles at its new Heartlands Business Park facility in West Lothian.

The company, which announced the restructuring of its UK business earlier this year, is searching for experienced welders, machinists, inspectors, maintenance and laboratory technicians as well as yard operatives and materials co-ordinators.

The company’s recruitment plans are a major boost for the local economy and will maintain Oil States’ position as one of West Lothian’s largest employers. The state-of-the-art 27 acre facility at Heartlands, which incorporates both production and office accommodation, is currently under construction and 80 staff from the nearby Bathgate facility are expected to transfer over at the beginning of next year. Once the recruitment process is complete, the Heartlands facility will house more than 200 staff.

From the West Lothian site, Oil States will operate a significant engineering research and development function to develop new, innovative products for the industry. The premises will also manufacture, service and repair a wide range of heavy steel components for the global offshore oil and gas industry, including:

  • Advanced connector systems.
  • High-pressure drilling and completion riser systems.
  • Surface and sub-sea well control equipment.
  • Slip joints.
  • Valves.
  • High-pressure clamps.
  • Flexible joints.

UK Managing Director, Garry Stephen commented:  “Our new facility at Heartlands Business Park is on track to be up and running early next year. A key driver in our decision to relocate certain parts of the business from Aberdeen to central Scotland was access to a wider pool of talent and its prime location between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

“Oil States’ presence in the UK is growing and this commitment to create 100 new jobs in the Bathgate area will give successful applicants the opportunity to work with a global organisation at the start of an exciting period of growth for the company.”

Applications are now open to new candidates as well as those with existing roles at the company’s Aberdeen facility. The expected start date will be Q1 2015. To apply, visit www.S1Jobs.com/oilstates
