When it comes to solving asset integrity problems in the offshore oil industry, EM&I have successfully adapted well-proven technologies from the nuclear, aerospace, civil engineering, forestry industries, and medical profession to produce ground breaking innovations which work well and produce significant savings - both in money & man hours - and are much safer than traditional methods.

EM&I adapts proven technologies for the oil industry

“There is no point in reinventing the wheel” according to Danny Constantinis (Executive Chairman) of EM&I - the international asset integrity specialists. “We always investigate other industries to see if they’ve already solved similar problems, and then adapt them for the offshore oil & gas industries. Using well-proven technologies is the key to the rapid development of new innovations. There is no monopoly of good ideas, and we can all learn lessons from other industries.

The ODIN® diverless UWILD (Under Water Inspection in Lieu of Drydocking) and NoMan® remote camera technologies for tank and pressure vessel internal inspections - which have been approved by the class societies - both come from the nuclear industry where robotics have been developed over many years. We have adapted these ideas to reduce the need and risk for divers and personnel working at height or in confined spaces as a result”.
