Plant Integrity Management Ltd (PIM) is ending 2015 on a high note with the announcement that it is opening its first overseas office. The Malaysian arm of PIM was incorporated as PIM Integrity Management Sdn Bhd (PIM IM) and will be headquartered in Selangor.

PIM, which is headquartered in Aberdeenshire, was set up in 2011 and provides services and products centred around integrity management to the oil and gas industry.

Steven Plant, managing director of PIM said, “Now, more than ever, the oil and gas industry is operating in a low cost environment; the oil price dropping to its lowest level since 2009 combined with predictions that it will drop to as low as US$20/bbl means that budgets are likely to become ever tighter, this is especially true of the North Sea.”

“Irrespective of the economic situation, oil and gas companies need to assure the integrity of their assets, optimise performance during the asset lifecycle and ensure that they continue to operate safely,” he continued. “Our commitment to ensuring our clients achieve their goals on time and on budget means that our business has grown in a planned and organic manner and as a result has established a stable platform from which to expand.”

Mohd Nazmi Mohd Nageeb has been appointed as PIM IM’s operations director, Malaysia. A registered professional engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, he has more than twenty-five years’ experience of working in the oil and gas industry both on and offshore.

He commented, “Despite the worldwide downturn in the oil and gas industry the outlook in the Malaysian and Asian sectors remains cautiously optimistic. We are confident that by 2020 PIM IM will be able to deliver £10 million turnover.”

Steven concluded, “To date PIM has worked predominantly in the North Sea and the Middle East but this move sees the company expand into Malaysia and marks the next stage of our international expansion plans. Further down the line we also envisage opening a second international office in the Middle East.”
