Datum360, a UK-based engineering information management provider, has been awarded an engineering information contract by Total for the Norwegian offshore Martin Linge development project.

Software as a Service solutions implemented in one week

Datum360 has already successfully delivered and implemented the £685 000 contract for its Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions – CLS360 and PIM360 – that will capture engineering information for the build of sustainable oil and gas production projects for Total. These will act as the data management warehouse for Datum360’s ongoing collection and assurance.

The company implemented the SaaS products in less than one week, when traditionally this process is subject to lengthy implementation. Additional work, totalling a value of £438 000, has already been awarded to Datum360 due to its productivity on this contract.

Speaking about the contract, Steve Wilson, Co-founder and CEO at Datum360 said: “We are incredibly proud to have implemented both of these solutions in little under one week. This is incredibly rare in a sector where engineering information management can traditionally take months and years at pilot stage, frequently never going live and costing owner operators millions.”

The Martin Linge project

With completion expected for 2016, the Martin Linge project brings technological innovations, designed to reduce environmental impacts and enhance operational safety, to the oil and gas production industry.

With average engineering information management contracts worth between £3-5 million, Datum360’s contract will demonstrate the cost effectiveness of the implementation of off the shelf solutions that can be deployed quickly.

Constant, high quality advice

Total’s Specialist Engineer in Maintenance, Tom N.Svennevig, said: “From the outset, Datum360 has supplied constant, high quality advice. They’ve understood our requirements and then, using their SaaS tools, have helped us specify, collect and assure the delivery of engineering information.”
