Wilhelmsen Technical Soultions wins LNG contract

Norwegian company Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions has announced that it has received an order from Dynagas to supply inert gas generators for five LNG carriers currently being built by Hyundai Heavy Industry (HHI). The Nitrogen generators to be supplied by the Norwegian company will be capable of producing inert gas at 2 x 150 m3/h at 97%.

In a statement released by Wilhelmsen, it was claimed that, “These orders further improve Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions’ market penetration for LNG carriers and reinforce the competence and experience of the company in this fast-growing shipping segment. In total, the company has around 600 customer references for its inert gas systems worldwide.”

The company also stated that the contract was secured because of the application of hollow fibre membrane technology, which it is claimed can provide significant efficiency savings.
